Drawing Studio - March 2021 Two-Week Extension, Live Course
Two-week course
Wednesdays 6:30-9(ish) pm ET, 3/10 & 3/17
Level: Beginner/Intermediate
*Please note this is a course extension for January/February 2021, we are finishing our current drawing, and is only intended for existing students of the course.
Drawing Studio is the follow-up course for Robert’s Drawing Fundamentals course. This course’s objective is to continue to build your “value” knowledge and the ability to create solid values within your drawings. You will continue to develop confidence in capturing what you see and rendering it on paper by drawing a still life with Robert. During this course, we will be drawing a still life of tomatoes in a bowl sitting on top of a cloth, titled “Eat your Veggies.” Your drawing will start with a contour drawing. After checking the positive and negative shapes for accuracy, you will begin the layering process of building value moving through the lightest pencil, 4h, up to the darkest pencils, 4b and 6b. By the end of this course, you will have a finished realistic drawing with solid values giving your drawing the illusion of three-dimensional space.
"Eat your Veggies" our reference for the January/February course.
You will notice that the scheduled time for this class is 6:30-9(ish), the “ish” is because sometimes we will reach a stopping point that is before 9 or after 9. Each class due to what we are drawing, the complexity of the subject will determine how much we are able to accomplish. It is my goal to never end a class with a part of the drawing half drawn.
If we finish the planned drawing for this course before the end of the scheduled classes, we will work on drawing very simple singular objects for any remaining scheduled classes.
Each lesson will be recorded and uploaded to the lesson curriculum page within a few days of the class giving you the chance to revisit the lesson or to catch up if you missed the class.
This is a live online drawing course using Zoom Meeting Rooms. Robert will be working from his studio, where he has several cameras set up to help him give you the best learning experience from the comfort of your studio. You will be able to draw along with Robert during each lesson and ask Robert questions.
Before enrolling, please visit the Technology Needs page to ensure you have everything needed to participate in the online class, ensuring that you have a great experience.
